Our Resources. Our Jobs. Our Communities. Our Canada.

Canada has some of the greatest resource wealth in the world.

These resources belong to the people of Canada. They need to developed in a sustainable way that benefits all Canadians.

In recent years more of these resources have been taken over by foreign companies that are cutting jobs and hurting our resource based communities.

On November 17 2010 Thompson, Manitoba became the latest victim. Three years after taking over Inco and promising more jobs Vale announced the closure of the refinery and smelter in Thompson leading to the loss of 600 jobs. This came weeks after the Federal Conservative government gave Vale $1 Billion.

What happened in Thompson came after the Federal government reacted to the clear message from the people of Saskatchewan and rejected BHP’s takeover of potash in Saskatchewan. Vale is the BHP that got approved.

Our Resources. Our Jobs. Our Communities. Our Canada.
